Abstract
| “Pipe-line Data Reduction” is the process of reducing data without
human interaction. The process of creating a pipe-line reduction
system involves writing software that is intelligent enough to make
decisions that a human operator would make if they were to do to the
reduction manually. A prototype PL was written to aid understanding
of the problems involved in engineering software of such a complex
nature. This chapter describes the construction and morphology of the
prototype and explains the results output. It concludes with a discussion
of the findings evident in creating the PL and ways to improve the
production pipe-line. |
